Kezuroukai Austin (Kezuroukai ATX) is a newly formed chapter of the larger Kezuroukai organization, dedicated to the appreciation and practice of traditional Japanese woodworking.
Our journey began when Andrew Hunter visited the Austin School of Furniture to teach a Japanese Hand Plane class. At the conclusion of the workshop, he announced the creation of this new Austin branch of Kezuroukai, bringing together woodworkers passionate about Japanese techniques, tools, and the craftsmanship that defines this ancient tradition.
We bring together woodworkers of all skill levels who share a passion for Japanese woodworking traditions.
Through monthly meetings and hands-on experiences, we explore techniques passed down through generations.
We celebrate the precision, beauty, and dedication that define Japanese woodworking.
